Dan Anderson
Wow! We are so psyched about these Vehicle Photographs for so many reasons: 1. They are from Hong Kong. 2. They are a great series that take us through a rainstorm and from the city to the country and 3. They were shot by our friend Dan Anderson. Dan is a Cambridge, MA based architect and designer (ahem, photographer) and he is a passionate advocate for the arts. I've seen him volunteer his time to help improve the lives of the youth in Area 4, Cambridge and he is generous with it. This is one of the best all-around, triple threats I've ever known. Thanks for sharing Dan! Come back anytime. Oh, his website and blog are pretty sweet too: http://www.andersonporter.com/

Backseat Driver - Jackie Anderson
This weeks Backseat Driver is Jackie Anderson. Jackie is a Boston-based, business owner, artist and all around nice person. Her Vehicle Photography goes above and beyond what we've seen here before. She uses a splendid combination of filters and text to enhance her work. This series is beautiful and couldn't have come at a better time. It seemed like summer was zapping our energy but thanks to this inspired work we once again feel alive thanks to art. Hey! Get out in the humidity and go. And while you're zipping along please don't forget to snap a picture!

Non-Vehicle Photography: A Revelation in the Obvious
Thanks to my sister-in-law for reminding me of the whacko ideas I come up with sometimes. This one in particular is Non-Vehicle Photography. It was my thought that in order to properly investigate Vehicle Photography we must look at some Non-Vehicle Photography. 'From now until the end of time we will showcase Non-Vehicle Photography too!' do I declare.
Perhaps as a viewer you can compare and contrast for a while. After you are done doing that maybe a little bit of time spent thinking of photography as a medium; it's history, limitations and advantages. That should tide you over for now.
Thanks again Sis!
So here they are.
Enjoy!

Backseat Driver
Yoav Horesh has sent us these great shots taken from a train traveling from Bangkok to Ayutthaya in 2004. These images pre-date Vehicle Photography but they are exactly what we've been looking for. These are great pics and we can't wait to see more from this globetrotting artist.
